Giving back to the community is very important to me. I was introduced to the Sandra J Wing Healing Therapies Foundation 5 years ago. I volunteered at one of their events the Rajun Cajun. I was instantly drawn to this wonderful selfless foundation that truly cares.
Cancer is awful disease that has affected us all at some point in our lives. The treatments for cancer are very hard on the body and emotional state and can make life even more miserable.
This is a foundation that provides grants to those with cancer going through Chemo Therapy and/or Radiation Therapy. The grant provides the recipient healing therapies to help get through the horrific side effects of the treatments they are receiving for their cancer. Treatments such as acupuncture, acupressure and therapeutic massages, Deep breathing meditation, and Guided/ visual imagery.
This is a local foundation where you can see your donations help our people right here in our area. They have provided over 1000 grants since the inception of the foundation in 2008. Here is a video of the Sandra J Wing Healing Therapies Foundation and what they do.
